Residential
We are a team of mountain enthusiasts who originated in cities and towns. We listen. We have fun. We develop relationships with our clients in order to understand their needs and goals. We facilitate a collaborative process through which beautiful, creative and functional residential architectural designs are born. We encourage creativity. We strive to be good stewards of our land and natural resources. And we apply practical knowledge for building homes in the mountains, such as consideration of the extremes in weather, intense sunlight, preservation of the night sky, and a respect for the historic architectural vernacular. We crush it when it comes to contemporary, modern, or traditional mountain architecture, or a combination thereof.
Commercial
At MA Studios, we are passionate about the legacy we leave. We are mindful of how buildings perform and how they enrich the environment. We are especially attentive to how spaces can influence the way individuals feel, think and act.

Institutional
Design accounts for meaningful forms and spaces for meaningful work. Creative architecture can facilitate the freedom of purpose, intellect, and innovation.
MA Studios has had the pleasure to work with:
- In partnership with Hord Coplan Macht of Denver for design work and construction management associated with the $85 million East Grand School District bond project. The work includes: a new Granby Elementary School; East Grand Middle School addition; Fraser Valley Elementary School addition; Middle Park High School renovations; and a new Middle Park High School Career and Technical Education Building.
- East Grand Fire District and its new South Fire Station near Winter Park.
- Art Space and the design of an affordable workforce housing project in Grand Lake.
- The West Grand School District in realizing its new Pre-K facility
- The East Grand School District in partnership with Ratio and its 2020 series of school and office renovations to improve student, faculty and administrative security
- The Church of the Eternal Hills Christian Preschool for its remodel and expansion
- Winter Park Christian Church and its 14,000 square-foot expansion to accommodate a preschool facility
- YMCA of the Rockies, Snow Mountain Ranch Camp Chief Ouray, for planning and design of new buildings
- The historic Grand Lake Yacht Club's renovations and deck additions.
- The Grand Park Community Recreation Center addition.
Planning
In the broader sense, we believe that everything we do impacts our communities, local and global. We are committed to making these impacts positive and constructive. From site planning, community master planning to feasibility studies, MA Studios has proven its ability to lead. The process we employ is a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
MA Studios has completed planning projects for:
- The Town of Grand Lake streetscape and wayfinding
- Trail River Ranch
- The Village at Grand Park Market Street
- Mixed-use development for downtown Granby
- YMCA's Camp Chief Ouray at Snow Mountain Ranch
- Preliminary studies for a floating community in Sausalito, California
